Baby Steps

It has been a very busy spring and summer around here. My daughter got married on July 30th and much time went into preparation for that wonderful day. We are thrilled for her and love our new son-in-law immensely! I will share some pics of the wedding once we receive them from the photographer.

My big news and reason for posting today is that I opened an etsy shop for my artwork and the occasional vintage piece. I have considered it for quite a while, but never managed to get it done. Thanks to lots of computer help from that new son-in-law, and another friend (thank you Summer!), I have finally opened it. So, click on my link on the left sidebar to check out my shop and know that I hope to list more art for sale there soon.

Today, I am posting a picture of an encaustic painting/collage which I completed for my exhibit at Malone University this past spring. It is entitled, "Deeper Calm."

Hi Helen! I'm so excited that you've opened an Etsy (love Etsy!) shop. I can't wait to check it out. I've just found your blog via google. I looked it up because, in celebration of Grandma's birthday, I'm posting a scan of the book you made for me , and wanted to link to any available site you may have. I hope all of this is okay. Do let me know if you'd rather I not post it and I'll promptly remove it. Congrats on the wedding....fondly, Ruth E.

I look forward to reading more of your blog. I've been thinking about an Etsy shop, too... but was obsessed with the fact that I hadn't "shown" anywhere. And here you are doing it all almost simultaneously... not to mention getting your daughter married. So much to learn and DO!

Congratulations on your new shop! Your work is beautiful and it should do very well. I look forward to being in the 'Hot Wax' class with you & seeing more of your wonderful creations :)
